While we all wish that liposuction were a way to reduce weight, it actually sculpts and reshapes specific areas of the body that are often resistant to diet and exercise. Common treatment areas are stomach, hips, back, upper arms, inner and outer thighs and knees. Liposuction can also be used for less common areas, including calves, ankles and face. Dr. Freedland also offers other body procedures such as tummy tuck and buttock lift.
Liposuction begins with a tiny incision followed by tumescence, the infusion of fluid to a specific region of the body. Fat may be removed using several methods. The most effective way to perform Liposuction is via Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL), which utilizes a device to vibrate, emulsify and remove fat. Dr. Freedland has chosen not to incorporate other methods of liposuction into his practice as they provide inconsistent results and may leave unsightly scars.
